Interactive Exhibit Teaches Kids About Addiction

Leaders in Itasca, Illinois think teaching teens about the dangers of drugs and alcohol is more than telling them to just say no. As a result, the village is hosting a new interactive exhibit called “What is Addiction?" at the Itasca Community Library through June 9.

Many organizations such as D.A.R.E. and T.R.E.N.D. exist to educate children and adolescents about the dangers of substance abuse, and of the danger of substance use combined with activities like driving. As adolescents enter the age where they are able to make choices about drinking and driving, it is important to understand how those choices are made.
